NOTRE-DAME-DE-LA-COUTURE BASILICA

The basilica of Notre-Dame-de-la-Couture takes its name from the deformation of the word "culture", the ploughed land on which it was built at the end of the ^14th century, on an ancient Merovingian religious site. The current edifice was continually enlarged and restored until the ^19th century when, thanks to the innovations of Viollet-le-Duc, the vaults were remodelled. It boasts a superb crypt, a fine collection of stained glass windows and an organ, which regularly hosts concerts.
