The Consell Regulador Denominació d'Origen Queso Mahón-Menorca is an organisation that was set up in 1985 to ensure the authenticity of Mahón-Menorca cheese (D.O.C. - Denomination of Controlled Origin). It is in charge of controlling the quality of the production and marking all the pieces. The cheese, made with whole cow's milk, is nowadays produced in about twenty farms. There are three types: soft, semi-dry and dry.

Morvedra Vell is the name of this ideally located lloc (in the southern part of the island, not far from the superb coves of Cala Turqueta and Cala Macarella). Here, a top-quality olive oil is produced directly from olives harvested on the estate, using mechanical cold-pressing processes. Several varieties are grown here: arbequina, picual, olivó and a typical Balearic graft. An award-winning oil you can't get enough of.

TastdeMenorca is a small shop located in the pedestrian center of Fornells. Gathering together some of the best artisanal products from the island's small producers, you'll find PDO Queso Mahón Menorca cow, goat and sheep cheeses, as well as embotits (typical cured meats) ranging from the classic sobrassada to carnixua and camot (traditional Menorcan cured meats). Products can be packaged for transport (by plane, boat...). Finally, you can opt for a tasting session before you check out!

The name of master pastry chef Lluís Febrer is well known in town, but also on the rest of the island. This family-run business specializes not only in traditional pastries, but also in Menorcan and Balearic specialties. Cookies, muffins, madeleines, panellets, mitjallunes, ensaïmadas and other sweet treats are available from the stalls. Note that everything produced here is gluten-free! Something to delight all gourmets. Last but not least, the house can deliver to your home, even if it's in France! An address worth trying out!

Miquel and Coloma, two Menorcan farmers, offer an excellent variety of artisan cheeses. Know-how, experience, tradition and quality! You can find their delicious cheeses on site (direct sale from the farm), as well as in the main supermarkets and grocery stores on Menorca. You'll also find them at markets and gastronomic events around the island. Their farm is on the outskirts of Cuitadella, near the Naveta des Tudons (just past Binigarba Fromages!).

Binibo is a small 10-hectare farm located in the south of Ciutadella and run by a Frenchman named Antoine Philipon. All its production has been certified organic since 2018: the man grows local vegetables on around two hectares and fruit trees on a similar area (figs, pomegranates, olives, citrus fruits and raspberries), while the rest of the farm's surface is left uncultivated and serves as a reserve for the island's natural biodiversity as well as a home for chickens and ducks. Store on site.

If you're a fan of local produce, or simply have a sweet tooth, don't miss out on a visit to this Menorcan charcuterie and cheese producer, who has a farm just outside Cuitadella (not far from the Naveta des Tudons). These professionals, who have managed to retain their authenticity despite the success of their products, offer direct sales of produce from the farm (in addition to their own production, you'll find bottles of wine and other local products).
