This authentic cavern on the cliffside, once inhabited by troglodytes, is worth a visit. Now refurbished as a club, it is a place to enjoy the sunset or, later in the night, to dance. The music produced by the club is on sale in the shop at the entrance. At night, the place becomes a discotheque that would not be out of place in Ibiza. The music is often quite commercial and the dance floor is located on the terrace, 50 metres above the water. One of the most spectacular nightclubs in Europe.

Located on the harbour, Jazzbah is a very popular establishment with the locals, which is usually reached after passing by La Margarete. It is a large bar with several floors and different atmospheres. Downstairs, the Jazzbah Club, with resident DJs and a stage for live concerts, a large program with renowned artists. Check it out on site or on their website. On the^1st floor, the Terrace-Chill Out, ideal for a drink with a beautiful view on the port. Private lounge area.

Hidden away in a corner of the historic centre, an unexpected oasis of peace and quiet: Welcome to La Margarete! Once you open the door, you are greeted by an elegant interior room, followed by a large, beautiful, open-air garden with a unique character. Once a shoe shop, now a bar-pub, it's the ideal place to start the night, with very good cocktails. Manu and his team, apostles of the Mediterranean evening, get the crowds moving to the sound of independent music. Both romantic and festive, the establishment is suitable for everyone.

A well-known meeting place for Ciutadella residents, the historic Casino 17 de Gener (Casino 17 January) has always been frequented by the island's most influential personalities (check out the portraits of the most important Menorcan politicians of the last century on the walls). The Jazzbah team (THE musical place of the city, indeed of the island) has taken over the reins and ensures a rather eclectic and quality cultural program. At the back of the room, hidden behind a curtain, a theater stage (year 1900) allows live shows.

The team of the mythical Jazzbah venue next door (THE reference in terms of live music on the island) is responsible for this brand new wine bar: Bodega del Jazzbah. Located in the emblematic Port of Ciutadella area, the place offers more than just great wines. The food is very good, from tapas in generous portions to more sophisticated cooked dishes. Cosy terrace, service room with furniture full of character, attentive service team and careful gastronomic proposals. To discover!

Maó's main theater - colloquially called "el Principal" by the locals - is one of the island's most important references in terms of culture, and more specifically live performance. The building itself is particularly remarkable, both inside and out. The programming is also of the highest quality, ranging from opera and classical music performances to more modern music concerts. Don't hesitate to consult the program (website) when you're in town.

Open all year, every day from 8 am to 2 pm. The day, for a breakfast or some tapas on the terrace.

In the evening, enjoy a drink and listen to music. Imported beer (this is rare here!). Sometimes, small concerts. There is always the world in this beautiful wooden bar. You can find the style of the English or Irish pubs.

The Nou Bar is a curious place: you enter via an unassuming staircase and then enter a fabulously decorated room that looks like something out of a 1950s film. A meeting point for families, friends, couples, young and old, this bar with its creaky parquet floor and incredible cachet, full of Art Nouveau details, has been what it is since owner Joan Saura decided to take it over in 1986. Here, you can eat simple, well-crafted dishes at any time of day, have a drink or listen to live music... A jewel!

This popular café with a bohemian spirit is located on the market square. Its pleasant terrace spread out under the arcades and its small interior room with a modern bistro decor invite you to enjoy the bustle of the market. The address is appreciated for its Menorcan and local products (especially the fish and seafood freshly caught from the boat of this family of fishermen) but also for its exceptional wines taken from the stalls of the nearby Vinateria. Frequented by locals and travelers alike.

Located on the seafront in the seaside resort of Cala Blanca, Hola Ola is a lovely place to spend a summer evening at sunset. You'll feel right at home in this chiringuito serving tapas and pintxos, beers, cocktails and delicious fruit juices. Eclectic and relaxed, Hola Ola has many faces. The place is sometimes transformed into a night club, sometimes into an open-air concert hall with piano concerts or flamenco cantaor , sometimes into a projection room.

Located opposite the fish market, C'an Rafa is the ideal place to have breakfast, read the paper and watch the hustle and bustle of the market, with its stalls, vendors and picturesque atmosphere. A discreet place with an elusive charm, frequented by the local population. It's up to you to try the delicious "tomàtiga" bread or a good ensaimada. For more robust appetites, the house offers copious and inexpensive typical plates, sandwiches and salads.

The aptly named Dolcevite Vinoteca is the ultimate wine bar! Located right in the center of town, the cozy little premises occupy a corner of the street and are the perfect stop-off for a toast to jazzy music. In store, an impressive collection of local and Spanish wines, as well as more exotic and select labels! You can also accompany your tasting with a few well-made bruschettas from a variety of recipes. In short, an elegant little counter that will delight discerning palates.

The location couldn't be better - at the foot of the Cap d'Artrutx lighthouse - for this beach club renowned for its panoramic sea views and chill-out atmosphere. The menu features wines, cocktails, a selection of tapas and Mediterranean dishes based on local products and Km0 (octopus, Bellota ham, red tuna tartare, Menorcan beef carpaccio, cod à la minorquine...). Reservations are essential for a chance to admire the sunset from its spacious terrace. Not exactly cheap, but the setting is magical!

With its long love affair with horses, Menorca would not be Menorca without a racecourse and horse racing. The municipal racecourse in Maó (the other being in Ciutadella, known as the Torre del Ram racecourse) is the place to go for top-quality equestrian performances, such as the trotting races, held every Friday at 8.15pm during the summer months and every Sunday at 11.30am during the winter months! An original outing in a local and sporting atmosphere!

Ses Palmeras is a small, simple bar with a pleasant terrace overlooking the Plaza Colom, in the shade of the palm trees (hence the name). It is run by Roberto, a friendly Italian expatriate in Menorca. You can stop here for a good breakfast, a solid meal based on homemade dishes at noon, consider an ice-cream cone in the afternoon, or have a drink between dog and wolf. It is worth noting that we tasted the best cappuccino in Maó at Ses Palmeras!

A must if you're passing through the port area, the Maó casino is the meeting place for all lovers of one-armed bandits and other slot machines in eastern Minorca! This modern, comfortable establishment is set in very pleasant surroundings overlooking the bay, not to mention the panoramic terrace suspended above the sea! In addition to the casino classics (including blackjack tables), there are also poker rooms for aficionados! In short, it's a place to visit with friends on occasion.

Nestled in the Palau Salort, this cocktail bar specializing in gin is the perfect place for a romantic stopover in the old town. Tapas and dishes are served in the elegant setting of a former ^17th-century Menorcan palace. On the menu: a platter of Menorcan cheeses, grilled scallops with garlic and parsley, red tuna tataki with pistachio, salmon ceviche with mango... as well as signature cocktails created by barman Alessandro Bellone. You can also enjoy a delicious brunch!

At the foot of the cathedral, between a tea room and a fashion boutique, Mònica Colomar invites you to discover her world of elegance. From Paris to Japan, she selects her pieces with taste. Fluid clothes, shoes, jewelry, wicker bags and decorative objects (cups, teapots, plates...) are displayed on the shelves, while the charming old-fashioned tea room invites you to indulge in a pastry or a good cup of coffee. You can also take a pleasant break on one of the chairs set out on the cobblestones.

Bandidu is THE meeting place for locals on the port. Set in a former warehouse with brick walls, the décor is reminiscent of a 1960s American pub, with an arty rock feel. The single, huge service room, with the vast island bar at its center, is made up of a collection of different, warm spaces. At the end of the day, you'll find yourself at Bandidu for a cocktail or a beer, but also for a few solid, well-made snacks that aren't necessarily super-healthy. Live music and dance floor.
