BELLOTA BELLOTA® TOUR EIFFEL

Mediterranean grocery
2/5
1 review

Welcome to this small piece of Spain in the heart of the 7th arrondissement! In a typical decor, this warm establishment bears the name of a famous Spanish ham that comes from a pig essentially fed with acorns. In addition to a beautiful Spanish charcuterie, you can buy there oils, canned fish and various Iberian tapas wich are delicious. Near the grocery counter, the restaurant corner with beautiful high tables with stools allows to eat on site if you want it. But for more space, a very beautiful basement room awaits you as well. The lastest thing of the restaurant is the Burger Iberico. It is a 100% Spanish recipe: a grilled chopped steak of presa Bellota a la plancha, a homemade salsa concocted with a crushed tomato and Espelette pepper jelly, a few salad leaves, sliced pieces of paleta (shoulder of Iberian ham Bellota) and a slice of manchego. But so many other Spanish delicacies await you on the spot… Nothing to say, Bellota Bellota® Eiffel Tower is really a safe value for lovers of Iberian food!

KANOUN

Mediterranean grocery

It is a tea room without equivalent, which deserves that one lingers there. The reactions are unanimous, and very positive, when you walk through the door for the first time. Marble, Art Deco chandeliers, spacious and wavy benches: the place has an undeniable charm. Kanoun is a nice oriental tea room (which also offers a restaurant). If we come there, it is for its pastries with an authentic taste, fine, to taste with delicious teas. We can only recommend a visit to Kanoun, 100%!

Tang Frères is synonymous with Asian supermarkets. It's the benchmark in its field. A little history: this supermarket on avenue d'Ivry, founded in 1976 by two Chinese brothers from Laos, was the first, the best-known, the biggest and the best-stocked. Since then, the Tang family has opened others, in the 13th arrondissement (avenue de Choisy) and beyond (in Noisiel, Vitry-sur-Seine, Pantin...). "What you don't find at Tang Frères, you're unlikely to find anywhere else: that's because it doesn't exist!

This épicerie is not always in spite of the reception that sometimes lacks heat, especially when there is the world and it is often the case that the midi turns in front of the window… In addition to Central European Yiddish products, Russian gastronomy is in good position. Mini-klops, schmaltzherings, cooked herring or white cheese cakes are traditional and tasty dishes. Florence Khan even wrote a book on Ashkénaze Jewish cuisine.

PARIS STORE

Delicatessen Asian products
3.7/5

A large blue brand, less discreet than its competitor Tang, but we find the same lively and teeming atmosphere of Asian stores. When you enter on the left, you see the sauces and side dishes: Nuoc-mam, nam pla, oyster sauce, chili sauce, soy sauce (available in 5-litre jerrycans!), Worcestshire sauce from Léa & Perrins, etc. On the right, a large frozen food section that is really worth it. There are sorbets with exotic flavours, but also shrimps, skewers, nems and various steamed ravioli sold in bags of 50 at unbeatable prices. For rice, there is plenty to choose from with the famous 50 kg bags of butterfly rice, broken rice, noodles, including Japanese noodles, teas, canned drinks and instant soups. An entire section is dedicated to spices and condiments, and alcohols are well represented, so avoid French wine, which is not of high quality. For all fruit and vegetables, the choice is breathtaking. The problem: labels, not translated, and salespeople who are only moderately French-speaking.
