The islands are scattered throughout the Gulf, with a greater concentration in the Vannes and Noyalo rivers (37 islands), while the smaller Auray River has only 5 islands, apart from Île aux Moines and its neighbour Île d'Arz, the other islands are often private property, ranging in size from a few hundred square metres to several hectares. A guided boat trip is a must!

Carnac offers beautiful beaches (like the Grande Plage, Saint-Colomban beach, Légénèse and Ty Bihan beaches, or the Beaumer and Men Dû beaches) pleasantly sheltered and famous for their fine sand, their gentle slopes or the clarity of their water. The city is certified as for the quality of its swimming water and is listed in zone A (high quality water). Exceptional natural heritage, the Carnac littoral is preserved. Areas for bathing is supervised on the Grande Plage and the Saint-Colomban beach during summer. Carnac is also the bathing area for all thanks to the Tourisme et Handicap label.

We call them that because these monumental stones are about 6 m high and weigh about 40 tons! They are aligned perpendicular to the Kerzehro Alignments, from north to south. You will discover the Great Broken Menhir, struck by lightning in 1947, and the Table of Sacrifices (the one that lies down) whose roughness has fed the popular imagination: it is said that the druids, at full moon, sacrificed young children, smearing the menhir with their dripping blood...

Built in the middle of the 18th century, the Chapel of Saint William was completely restored around 1830. This one is located in front of the island of Saint-Cado, in a magnificent site on the edge of the Ria d'Etel. Saint William, a Breton bishop born in Saint-Alban near Lamballe around 1175, died in 1234. It is used to cure rheumatism and gout. Namely: every year, forgiveness is celebrated on the last Sunday in July. The village of Nestadio is also worth a visit for its beautiful houses with their elaborate facades, mullioned windows and vast fireplaces.

In the company of a tour guide, you will discover the rich heritage of Vannet, the half-timbered houses, the ramparts, not to mention the cathedral, the 17th century private mansions and the 19th century facilities. Er Grah's burial megalith is a Neolithic megalith belonging to the family of closed vault burials. Its size is impressive, even exceptional, since it is nearly 140 meters long! Unfortunately, it is truncated at both ends and partially shaved. Its slab covers a chamber with dry masonry walls that is the only known funeral structure in this enormous architecture. The burial mound is located on the same site as Er Grah's broken great menhir and the Merchants' table.

The large broken menhir is one of the most famous stones because it is the most imposing ever worked by prehistoric man (20 meters long for about 280 tons...). Today, it offers to the eye the image of a broken giant, long called the Stone of the Fairy. It is an incredibly impressive obelisk that, standing up, must have been about 18 metres long, just like that! Smart: the Pass des Mégalithes allows you to benefit from advantageous rates to visit five unique sites in Morbihan (the Museum of Prehistory and the alignments of Carnac, the Cairn of Gavrinis, the Cairn of the Petit Mont in Arzon and the site of the megaliths of Locmariaquer).

Implicit recognition for Ederven-Kerminhy beach. It is 2,500 meters long and is located between the river Etel and the Roche-Dry Blockhouse and accessible by the RD 781. Attendance by users of the naturist camping CNBS.

On this beach, there are many families used to maintaining the family character. Users of the Naturist Club of South Brittany are found there as well as their holidaymakers in summer. To note, a bicycle path runs along the beach - 1.5 km - with several access, gelvelles protecting the dune - and preventing voyeurs. A very nice beach in the summer especially at low tide where children can fight safely. 2 possible access to the village of Erdeven: Direction Kerouriec, large parking lot of La Roche Sec.

A sign indicates that naturism is tolerated from the entrance to the beach. But there are always irreducible textiles to the blockhouse on the right. The naturist zone really starts after the blockhouse. This is the most family area, where the beach is on a gentle slope, the sand finishes, and where there are the most people! Go to Kerminihy.

The biscuit factory is located opposite the Blocked Fort, which for a long time was inaccessible at high tide. The visit of the workshop will reveal all the secrets of the real Kouign Amann made by hand... but not only. You can also be introduced to the making of Breton cake or Far Breton. A tasting of Breton biscuit specialities (Breton puck, Crakou with caramel...) is also planned. Finally, the cellar, which offers Breton ciders and liqueurs, will conclude the visit!
