The best museums Zutendaal

On the Grand-Place, the Museactron is a very interesting place with three museums.

The Regional Archaeological Museum has an important collection of prehistoric, Roman, medieval and modern periods; The Pharmacy Museum (the oldest in Belgium) displays lots of pots, flasks, vials, some of which are made of Delft porcelain; and the Bakery Museum.

With a floor area of 4,000 m² (43,000 sq. ft.), the Bocholt brewery museum is the biggest in Europe. It opened in 1979 and is run by the Brouwerij Martens. (See the A-Z of breweries in this guide.)This important museum traces the history of the brewing industry from 1758 to the modern era. Visitors move from a traditional malthouse to the brewing room, passing original period fermenting vats and more recent fermentation tanks. The 100 exhibits come from Germany, the UK and Belgium.

The GlazenHuis is an art museum in Lommel. Opened in 2007, it is renowned for its original architecture and its collection of glass works. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions, most recently "Shoerealism" by artist Simsa Cho. Visitors can watch glassblowers at work in their studio in the museum's basement. Visitor reviews are generally positive, highlighting the warm welcome and interesting exhibits. The museum is also conveniently located, close to several restaurants and tourist attractions.
