You will find in this vast space several food shops: butcher's shop, delicatessen, fruit, vegetables, grocery store, oysters from Lestre, salmon from Cherbourg, wine, cheese shop, creamery and restaurant... nothing is missing and everything is good, certified of great quality, and proposed by true connoisseurs. Little by little, the place has been adopted by the people of Cherbourg. Brunches are organised on Sundays: in summer, you can have them outside, since this street is pedestrian. A great place, which changed ownership last February, with Félix taking over from Manu! We might as well say it straight away, but the characteristic smell will quickly remind you: there's little or no cheese missing here. Whatever the pasta, the origin, the flavor, the animal (goat, sheep, cow), the choice is vast, and the possibilities multiple, since this cellar offers the preparation of entire trays. In addition, eggs, other dairy products and dried fruit complete the range, which is decidedly unrivalled!

When you arrive in front of the Verger Carentanais, you will see the sign "Sélectionneur de saveurs" (Flavour selector): it's a good choice! Because here, it is a festival of colours, and thus of fruits and vegetables, that you will find. The products are excellent, and the quality is obviously there. We don't stop there, because here you will find excellent baskets, excellent preserves and even dairy products. In short, nothing is missing, and especially not the welcome, which is excellent. We can only recommend it.

This cheese dairy was founded in 1931 by Théodore Réaux. From the outset, production focused on ladle-molded Camembert made from raw milk, and the dairy opens its doors to the public. You'll visit the AOC Camembert production workshops, then move on to the molding and renneting workshop, and discover the hâloirs, the ripening cellar and the packaging line. The cheeses, which won 5 medals again this year, can be purchased in the store.

If you are looking for excellent dishes, made with local products in the rules of the art, and that you can get directly from the producer, look no further! It is indeed in the small village of La Haye-Bellefond, near Villidieu, that Sylvain Hardel's farm welcomes you every day from 5:30 pm to 7 pm. You will find here fresh creams, churned butter and, of course, Camembert. Lovers of short circuits, you will be rewarded with a top quality welcome.

It is the home of cheese in the city, and we must admit that the loyalty of the clientele is not without reason! Because this Carnival of Cheeses (you'll appreciate the nod to the famous annual meeting in Granville) offers hundreds of references, some of which are made by the owners. Here, they know a lot about cheese, and the advice and welcome are excellent. François and Nadia will have no shortage of little wonders to offer you, starting with the unmissable Durand Camembert, of which they are the producers.

It was while studying during an internship that young Noémie discovered the best that goats could give. Combined with her know-how, the idea of launching her own cheese-making business was an obvious one. Installed in the family farm, she offers many kinds of cheese: fresh, matured, flavoured. It is excellent, fresh, and directly distributed from the producer to the consumer! To get some, nothing could be simpler: come to the farm at the dedicated hours, or don't hesitate to go to the distribution shops!

This event is held only during the summer months, on Wednesday mornings. Logically called "les rendez-vous du mercredi", they allow you to discover the magnificent farm of La Vallière, in Saint-Malo-de-la-Lande. Here, horses and goats are bred, and you will not miss anything to know them perfectly. You will be milked, put out to pasture, discover the nursery with the kids, and the whole thing will be topped off with a nice brunch. We will think to book in advance, to check the availability

This nice cheese shop has chosen to move closer to Cherbourg town centre by migrating from Équeurdreville. Just a stone's throw from the theatre, the beautiful shop surprises with its impressive selection, most of which comes from local producers. In the basement, a ripening room allows Duronaj to offer excellent cheeses. Finally, like any good cheese shop, dairy products are offered. Special mention to the reception and the great knowledge of the staff, who know their products and how to advise customers.

In this vast space, the cows live at their own pace: they graze in huge fields greened by the climate, and are milked when they want, the system being automated. Result: no stress for the cows, and excellent milk! The farm produces creams, yoghurts, white cheeses, and of course all are delicious! This is the story of a family who fell in love with the region and bought a small house in Gathemo for the holidays. As the years went by, the idea of creating a business here matured. Among the proposals, the direct sale of farm cheese made from raw goat's milk, produced on the spot, but also of local products. The visit of the goat farm is possible by appointment: children love it. And for those who can't go to the farm to buy cheese, the Manchevrette has a stand at various markets in the region.

The parents originally settled in Moyon in 1981, and in 2012 the two daughters decided to join the business. Today, Ferme de l'Isle produces nearly a million liters of milk a year, and develops a good fifteen dairy products, fromage frais, crème fraîche and milk jam: many of them won awards in 2024, with a gold medal for fromage frais, silver for crème crue and bronze for riz au lait à la ville. The farm offers an on-site vending machine for its products.

It is all well and good to say: nothing can replace the link of a merchant who comes directly to your home. This is the challenge taken up by Fabrice Viart, whose passion for cheese brings him every week to six markets in the south of the Channel, and even in Ille-et-Vilaine. As a cheese-making and maturing artisan, he advises, depending on the season, happy consumers who often were no longer used to such valuable advice. The products, carefully selected, are as numerous as they are good, and most of them are sourced locally. A real pleasure, now too rare! In addition to going around the markets, a dedicated store is at your disposal in Granville, of course your taste buds are wriggling, but the sight of the eyes is not so bad either!
