In the clay-limestone soils of the Haut-Poitou, the Rolls Royce of melons is 150 years old, and the Poitou-Charentes region alone produces a quarter of the national output. The Haut-Poitou melon was the first melon certified in France in 1996. A plot is grown every 5 years, only in the open air, in an area bounded to the south by the Auxances valley, to the north by the Loire and to the west by the Clain and Vienne valleys. 13 demanding farmers share the cultivation of this delicacy.

The philosophy is simple: to sell food from local agriculture, concerned with societal and environmental issues, with the aim of bringing producers and consumers together. For 24 years, Patrice Melin has lived His Passion: vines. The area is located about minutes by car from Futuroscope. The vines extend over a surface of seven hectares in the Neuville Plain. Listening to his clients, Patrice puts his know-how at their service and proposes High-Poitou wines of classified grape varieties, a controlled appellation of origin: Sauvignon and Chardonnay for whites, Gamay and Cabernet for the reds, Rosé Poitou and semi-dry rosé, as well as sparkling, rosé or white grape juice and traditional method. Do not hesitate to ask for a box (3 bottles), ideal for the amateurs. The operation is part of the network Welcome to the farm, and you won't come in wine!

These sisters have had the bright idea of opening a gourmet and responsible grocery store in the center of Neuville, where bulk and regional products have pride of place. Their first names?

Mathilde and Angèle. Together, they select products that are good for you (often organic), mostly local, and sold in bulk whenever possible. They know them inside out. You can bring your own containers or borrow those from the store. Here, everything is done to make your shopping as simple as possible. A tea room completes the boutique.

On Thursday and Sunday mornings, the Neuville market is one of the most famous and popular in the Vienne region. On the Place de la Mairie and in the Halles (inaugurated in 2015), traders set up their stalls at dawn. Around 8am, the little town comes alive. Some of the stalls have become veritable institutions: come and discover Mélanie and Alexandre's vegetables and fruit, Sandrine's fish or taste the rillettes from the Dupont charcuterie!

Brasserie de Bellefois, a historic brewery in the Vienne region, continues to tantalize the taste buds. Born in Nouaillé, the two brothers Arthur and Nicolas decided to set up a craft brewery, but also a market gardening and vegetable processing workshop. Since then, Arthur has been in charge of making craft beers, Nicolas of producing organic vegetables and putting them in jars (eggplant caviar, basil pistou, tomato juice...). From July to September, the vegetables are available in the form of a basket. They have been joined by Elsa who grows medicinal aromatic plants and transforms them into syrups, herbal teas, vinegars...

Cécile Baybaud, aka Cisou, has known the scents of the magic potion since she was a child. His youth from Martinique and then Guyana, between a mother who experiments with punch and liqueurs made from agricultural rum and a father who lends himself to tasting, has deeply rooted his taste for spirits. No wonder that several meetings and tastings later, the young woman developed her own recipes. Their particularity: they are infused agricultural white rums from French Guiana, with no added sugars. The perfume comes exclusively from the maceration of rigorously selected and skillfully combined fruits, flowers and spices. Its creative range includes ZANANA (pineapple peel), AUZAN (combination of pineapple flesh and the delicacy of saffron from the Great Gorse), MANJAK (sweet mango combined with the tonicity of piri-piri pepper), PAPWA (green Sichuan pepper), BWA (combination of raisins, ginger and cinnamon).

The Jahan company has preserved the original recipe, that of a cow's curd soufflé cake that a farmer forgot in her oven. Oops! But what a surprise to open it and discover its sweetness! You can find these little artisanal marvels and other delicacies such as croquants de Saint-Benoît in the factory store. An absolute must.

This local produce store is the culmination of an idea launched during the first containment in April 2020. It all started with a few orders and baskets made with produce from local producers. Today, La Grange Ouverte offers fruit, vegetables, meats, groceries and cosmetics from Civraisien-en-Poitou and beyond. The store is open on site, but you can also order online and pick up your basket in the store or at one of the local depots. A great deal!

In the countryside, Nathalie and Christophe Favard raise 200 goats on site, on over 60 hectares of organically farmed land. Since 2013, they have been transforming the milk into delicious cheeses (mothais-sur-feuille, p'tit chabis, bûche, palet...), fromage frais and yoghurts. They sell their products, as well as those from the Balandière farm (vegetables, organic bread) every Tuesday evening on site. In summer, in July and August, other local producers join them to sample even more local produce - yum! Good mood guaranteed!

Broché du Poitou is the region's emblematic cake. It's made from eggs, flour, sugar, salt and, above all, the high-quality butter that gives it its identity. The Augereau cookie factory has been making them since 1973. It is available in all formats: mini to take everywhere, or maxi to break with friends. In addition to the four traditional cookies (broyés, benoîtines, macarons and sabletines), the biscuit-maker diversifies, bringing out mouth-watering new products every year! So why not try the fun wafer or the fine waffle?

Boris and Morgan are great whisky lovers and have gone so far as to create their own beverages, aged in pineau barrels. They distil in Boris' garage. Alexandre Clochard's meat terrines are inspired by his grandmothers' cooking, and each creation is named after a grandparent. Ingredients are sourced within 30 km of his home. He imagines delicious recipes based on beer, chanterelle mushrooms, green garlic... and produces them all year round, using traditional methods. On the sweet side, he makes Clochettes du Poitou (his childhood nickname)! He roasts nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, etc.), then wraps them in sugar and chocolate. A delicious treat!

Member of the network "Welcome to the farm", Patricia and Eric Philipponneau raise bees in the poitevin bocage… These beekeepers will extract honey that will serve them to manufacture a range of natural and authentic products: spring honey harvested on the flower orchards in April, honey spreads with hazelnuts, gingerbread and the "Valais du Poitou", creamy honey of sunflower. You're invited to go there to find out how bees live, how a hive is built. It's possible to visit the transformation honey processing workshop… Retail sale on site, in the Futuroscope shops and country houses. Good tasting!

A baker and farmer, Rodolphe created the Herbes Folles farm in 2010. He is joined by his wife Hélène and his brother Mathieu. On this certified organic farm, ancient cereals grow on some forty hectares. The harvest is transformed into flour, crushed under the stone millstone of the farm's mill. Sourdough bread (semi-complete, petit-épeautre, rye-sarrasin...) is baked over a wood fire. Cookies, brioches and other delicacies are also available. Other activities are planned at the farm.

La Moujasse is, in the local language, a cheeky, impertinent, cheeky little girl... In Vivonne, it is also a microbrewery! Behind the making of the beers, there are Sylvain, Aurélie, Jérôme and Philippe. If they started this adventure in January 2022, in reality three of the companions were brewing by passion, together for 10 years. After a training, they decided to share their recipes with a wider public. Once a month, they meet to brew and bottle together. Today, they have six beers to offer (with citrus notes, spicy or more bitter...), as well as seasonal ones that are added according to their inspirations.

In this pretty store overlooking the fairground, Marie welcomes you with a smile. In this grocery-herbery store, you'll find a little bit of everything, but mostly local products or products made by passionate producers, including bulk products (cereals, sugar...), herbal teas, preserves, wine, spices, soaps... There are also artisan creations: baby sarouels, zero-waste creations, pretty jewelry, candles... A small organic and local market is held on Wednesdays from 5pm to 7pm. Workshops are also available.

Every Saturday morning, traffic is diverted to accommodate the various vendors. The atmosphere is relaxed, with smiling people. Everyone takes the time to chat around the stalls or enjoy a drink on the terrace. Several farms come to sell their fruit and vegetables. There are also cheese and poultry producers... Others offer honey, beer, wine, charcuterie, flowers, coffee, tea, ready-made meals, olives, oils, fish... The stalls are colorful, the products good - enough to concoct a delicious meal!

Pork producers for several generations, Delphine and Jérôme Barrouillet have started to transform their product. It is in Couhé, close to their farm, that they installed their workshop-boutique. Pork lovers, go there! The cured meats are delicious. It must be said that the couple was trained in Aurillac. Prepared dishes, sausages without additives, rillons, stuffed Poitevin, sausages, everything is home made. Other local products are offered.

Gourmands, we've got you covered! For over 20 years, Stéphane Thévenon has specialized in the creation of chocolates and macaroons. He and his team welcome you to their bakery-patisserie-chocolaterie to delight your taste buds, whether with his Tradition baguettes made with Label Rouge-certified Bagatelle flour, or his specialties: macarons de Lusignan, macaroné (a large round cake made from raw almonds, egg whites and sugar) and raymondins, named after the husband of the fairy Mélusine (almond and chocolate dragées). Pierre Morgeau and his sister Cécile - the^5th generation of winegrowers at the head of the estate - and their teams continue to shape a fine, fruity, terroir-driven wine.
