At the foot of the Grand Luberon, north of Aix-en-Provence, Château Val Joanis covers 400 hectares of preserved nature with 110 hectares of vines planted between pine and olive trees. The great diversity of the terroirs (limestone, pebbles, red clay) allows us to produce rich and elegant reds, fine and racy whites and fresh and tasty rosés. Here wines rhyme with conviviality, especially in summer with the Apéros de Val Jo and the Festival Les Musicales dans les Vignes de Provence. The gardens classified as "Remarkable Gardens" are worth a visit.

It is a small estate on which three generations of the Théric family have succeeded one another. Marcellin, the grandfather, had rehabilitated the wells to bring it back to life. Mathias Théric works in the family tradition, in the old-fashioned way: his wines are made from grapes harvested and sorted by hand, but his taste for independence and his desire to make subtle and astonishing vintages are worth the detour! Just up there, a few metres from the family estate, he has created a cellar to welcome wine lovers. This is where you can taste his wines.

Come to La Cavale to discover the Luberon through organic wines, olive oils and honey, reflecting the vision of Paul Dubrule, its owner. In the magnificent cellar, you will have the possibility of tasting the wines or of taking a guided tour of the cellar. You will be able to stroll through the store, offering a diverse range of wine and spirits from around the world. You will also have the possibility to have a drink on the terrace in the heart of the Luberon accompanied by local sweet or savory specialties.

Make Saint-Pierre de Méjans your wine tourism stopover in the Luberon, where viticulture has a long tradition. Jean-Marc and Wendy Gobbi, the new owners, have restored this fortified ^12th-century Benedictine priory to its former glory by developing the 13-hectare vineyard. The wines - which have won medals at competitions in San Francisco and Houston - come in powerful reds, lively rosés and delicate whites. Honey, olive oil and lavender are available on site.

Sylla is a group of around one hundred winegrowers spread across the Luberon, Ventoux and Vins de Pays de Vaucluse IGP PDO production zones. This union of producers represents 1,000 hectares and draws its uniqueness from well differentiated terroirs located between the northern Luberon and the southern Monts de Vaucluse.

The Sylla store offers a wide selection of local products. In summer, you can visit the vineyards and taste the finest combinations of Sylla wines in the cellar.

Founded in 1924 by a dozen winegrowers, the winery now brings together around a hundred contributors for a cultivated area of 552 hectares in AOP Luberon and IGP Méditerranée appellations. The vineyards stretch across the sun-drenched hillsides of southern Luberon, between 200 and 450 meters above sea level, which has a beneficial effect on the climate: the temperature differences between warm days and cool nights give a fine balance to the white wines (Secret d'un terroir and a Viognier won gold medals at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris) and the light, aromatic rosés. Their red wines are round and fruity, including Secret d'un Terroir and a Cuvée Spéciale that also won an award in 2016. Finally, their Blanc de Blancs sparkling wine in IGP Vaucluse, with its brilliant pale yellow color, promises fine bubbles and citrus and pear aromas on the finish, perfect for pairing with desserts or as an aperitif.

Former municipal hospice then boys' school until 1953, the Hôtel d'Astier de Montfaucon, owned by the commune of Ménerbes since 1751. Restored in 2004, the building, listed in the supplementary inventory of Historic Monuments, houses a shop dedicated to Provencal products, especially truffles. The oenotheque allows you to discover the little treasures of the Luberon and Ventoux and the bar-restaurant allows you to taste truffles and wine in the best conditions.

The twenty-hectare vineyard has been classified AOC Ventoux since 1973. It produces Luberon wines with a strong personality, thanks to careful soil management and gentle winemaking that respects the work of nature. The result is two flagship cuvées: the fruity "Terre d'Ocres" in all three colors, and the powerful "Hautes Pierres" in red and white. As well as sweet wines. The domaine has won numerous awards. The wines are very good. The cellar regularly hosts artists' exhibitions.

Created in 1990 by Jean-Claude Chasson, the vineyard extends over 70 ha: 23 ha at the foot of the ochre cliffs of Roussillon in the AOC Ventoux appellation, 22 ha spread between Bonnieux, Lacoste and Maubec in the AOC Luberon appellation, and 5 ha of Vaucluse vins de pays harvested from young vines. Combining modern techniques with ancestral winemaking methods, the vineyard produces renowned wines: AOC Luberon Domaine Chasson in all three colors.

Situated south of the Luberon massif, almost on the banks of the Durance, this 54-hectare vineyard set in a beautiful estate has belonged to the Descours family since 1981. Château La Verrerie is one of the jewels in the appellation's crown. Small yields, manual harvesting, gravity-fed vinification...: extreme care is taken in the production of the wines to ensure total control over their quality. The wines are produced in all three colors. La Verrerie also produces olive oils in three fruity varieties: black, ripe and green.

Created in 1923 by a handful of wine growers, the Cave du Luberon is still maintained by passionate enthusiasts. The vineyard extends on the sunny slopes of the municipalities around Maubec. The philosophy here is to maintain traditional vinification from typical grape varieties in the region: Grenache, syrah, carignan, mourvèdre, cinsault. The winery produces two names "PDO Luberon" and "PDO Ventoux", wines from Vaucluse countries and table wine in red, rosé and white.

It is a domain that is handed down from generation to generation, in a privileged location. It includes the cellar, the Museum of Wine Arts and Crafts, an opportunity to discover ancient monumental wine presses and ancient wine-making tools, a reception room and a gîte set up in a dwelling dating from 1750. Dominated by the Mourre Nègre, the vineyard of 18 ha is in one piece grouped around the cellars. This is how red wines with a strong personality, concentrated and balanced are born in the tradition. Favourite: "L'Agitateur", named after a piece in the museum.

On the hill of Les Puy, the view is superb, a good reason to go up to this address where the welcome of the Leclercq family will confirm your decision. Claude Leclercq and his sons, Alexandre and Benoît, run a 30 ha estate, 10 ha of which are planted with AOC Ventoux vines. Their AOC Ventoux vintages are available in a range of pretty wines: a salmon-coloured rosé with an intense nose of red and white fruits; it is a wine for summer moods. Tradition - a cuvée aged in oak barrels, with a deep ruby colour and spicy notes.

This former residence of the bishops of Apt, the rock-built Château de Mille, is well worth a visit, both for the magnificent site and for the estate's wines. The 32 hectares of vines are cultivated between 350 and 400 meters above sea level. This is a terroir on the northern foothills of the Luberon, complex with limestone and very stony soils. Yields are low. Vinification is carried out the old-fashioned way, in century-old oak tuns, where the red wines can develop their aromas for at least two years.

A 400-year-old holm oak reigns over Domaine Beauvence, the emblem of a preserved land. Taken over in 2018 by a passionate couple, this estate is distinguished by its diversity, for in addition to the wines it produces, it also produces olive oils, honey and lavender. The estate's vines produce rosé, red and white wines from six grape varieties: Roll, Grenache Noir, Cinsaut, Ugni Blanc, Roussanne and Syrah. The grapes are harvested by hand, and most of the vinification takes place in barrels. The Domaine offers three distinct cuvées, all of excellent quality.

Château les Eydins is a winery located in Bonnieux. It offers a wide selection of organic wines, certified by Véritas. Visitors can discover all types of wine, from reds to whites to rosés. Among the wines on offer are Petitou 2022, Fontêtes 2018, Ouvière 2019, Cuvée des Consuls 2019 and K À Part 2020. It's important to remember that alcohol should be consumed in moderation.

Château les Eydins is an 18-hectare wine estate, run by Serge Seignon since 1999. Winegrower for 4 generations, he has taken up the torch. Passionate about nature, he decided to apply for organic certification of his vineyard in 2000. In the cellar, rough concrete vats allow the red wines to be vinified in the traditional way, favouring their maturation by regulating temperatures and extracting aromas. Some vintages are then matured in barrels of 2 to 5 wines in the cellar to round out the tannins.

Since the 1970s, Jean-Pierre Margan, a pioneer of organic farming, has been pampering his vines, situated on an exceptional terroir, and making wines of character and high quality. We come to Château la Canorgue for the pleasure of the eyes. The building bewitches you with its charm, its simplicity, its fountains guarded by Neptune and his dolphins, the small chapel, the majestic terrace. We like the red, which is quite tannic and goes well with a shoulder of lamb, the white has hints of citrus and exotic fruits.
