This historic market (it's been around since the ^18th century, after all!) is an integral part of the town's soul. All year round, it's alive with a unique atmosphere: people come to shop, eat, have a coffee or a drink, buy flowers, sample oysters and world specialties, and even pick up a few items of clothing outside. The meat, French and Spanish charcuterie and cheeses are magnificent! As for prices, especially for fruit and vegetables, they remain very affordable.

Here is an open-air market that takes place every Tuesday morning on Place de l'Etoile, as well as every Friday morning in front of the Post Office, you will find the best local products but also ready-to-wear, souvenirs, and local artists, a must for tourists! The covered market welcomes you all year round, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in the morning and every day during the summer season, to the delight of your pupils and taste buds! All the flavours of the Basin are on the market, oysters of course, but also a selection of local products: delicatessen, fruit and vegetables, fish... To live the experience to the full, do not forget to stop by the Bodeguita de la Plaza to discuss in a friendly atmosphere over a glass of wine and a plate of tapas.

Copains des champs, is above all the meeting of producers who became friends and who wished to put forward products mainly from their region, 100% responsible, 100% authentic and at a fair price. Without intermediaries, the farmers leave their production in a deposit-sale. There are more than 1,000 organic or sustainable products, ranging from dry to fresh, not forgetting wines, natural fruit juices, olive oils, honeys... The store welcomes its producers on Saturdays, organizes tastings and contests.

In addition to Wednesday mornings, it's the Sunday rendezvous of every self-respecting (smart) Agenais! You'll find only local, seasonal produce, and some of the cheapest prices around. There's also a lovely mushroom stand, and a small poultry shop. And don't forget the creamery, with its mouth-watering yoghurts and crème fraîche. At the entrances to the market, you'll find nurserymen, bakers and a fishmonger offering excellent cod brandade. This is the place to catch up on the previous day's rugby match, a warm and friendly market.

The lively market is staffed by some twenty traders and craftsmen, offering top-quality produce and the friendly welcome you'd expect from a market. You might think that the Chartrons covered market is actually on the market square, sheltered under the metal and glass hall, but no. To find it, you have to go to the rue Sicard. Seven professionals who select the best of our land (fishmonger, vegetable seller, cheesemonger, delicatessen, oyster merchant, wine merchant and a butcher) welcome customers who come to look for fresh and quality products in a friendly atmosphere. Another market of the Chartrons is held in the open air on the quays on Sunday.
