Built in the th century in the volcanic stone of Agde with a structure bordered in Venetian Venetian style, the covered square of Marseillan was renovated several times during the th century. This building has long been the main gathering place for the Marseillanais in markets and festivals.

Also marketplace, the Place Carnot is the gathering place of the Marseillanais. A beating heart of the village, it was covered in 1310 by a wooden building and replaced in 1808 by a frame bordered in Venetian with arches built in black basaltic stones of Agde.

The monument as we know was completed in 1984.

Located in the north, known as the «Gate of the City», it is the only tower of the ramparts that was preserved from the demolition when the fortifications were dismantled. It was the home of one of the first pastors of Sumene.

The Gateway Portal was a door surmounted by a tower that served as an urban belfry and wore the communal clock. You can see 2 beautiful gunboat.

This passage, not far from the Grand Bridge, gave access to the ancient ramparts and is still called a round road. On the side of the houses, this passage serves cellars, while on the side of the ramparts of numerous traces and some vestiges are the course (archères, gills…).
