Original market place with Romanesque arches and lively terraces, hosting the Occitan music festival.

It's a highly original market square, with Romanesque arches supporting the upstairs dwellings, which were built to protect themselves from the flooding of the Vidourle. In summer, the terraces of the cafés and restaurants are lively and colorful. Here, you can relax in search of serenity, and enjoy the spectacle of costumed festivities, where troubadours and jugglers converge. You can dance to the Hivernales, the festival of Occitan music that the town organizes every January. And in summer, you can linger in the cool of these tightly-packed houses.

C'est une place bordées d'arcades sur un coté, encaissée dans la ville. Depuis le pont Tibère passer la porte, un petit passage à gauche nous fait déboucher en hauteur. Cette vue dominante est à pratiquer aussi les jours de marché. Les jours de marché les arcades sont le lieu de dégustation des huitres. On y trouve aussi les produits frais locaux de très bonne qualité. Lorsque l'on fait le tour complet, on admire les anciennes devantures en bois des bars. Dans la rue Narbonne qui débouche au Nord, les façades des immeubles portent les marqueurs des débordements du Vidourle. Il y a la une très bonne boulangerie!
