Winegrowers from father to son for 5 generations, these passionate craftsmen run a 9-hectare vineyard planted on the slopes overlooking Épernay, the champagne capital. The house produces top-quality wines, including Cuvée 7C and a white coteaux-champenois from a perpetual cuvée launched in 2015. In this village bordering Burgundy, with its pretty stone-built lanes and many impressive porches, we come across this house offering a fine range of champagnes made in the family, with an annual production of some 35,000 bottles. 7 fine, chiselled wines to discover. Enough to satisfy all tastes for a very interesting price/quality ratio. Not to mention their coteau-champenois, a real treat for the palate!

This family business is currently managed by Didier Goussard, oenologist, and Jean-Claude Dauphin. Their Champagne Brut Tradition is a 100% pinot noir cuvée that will be the perfect accompaniment to traditional dishes and local cuisine. The Champagne Brut Prestige (60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir) is perfect for an impromptu aperitif. A favorite is the Brut Rosé, with its aromas of candied fruits and its sweet and fresh flavors. A little jewel!

Close to the city hall, Chai Léon offers a large selection of champagnes, burgundies, clarets and wines from all over France. A nice selection to discover, very cheap wines and great vintages. There is something for everyone. This champagne house, founded in 1951, bears an aristocratic, medieval name. Know-how and state-of-the-art technology coexist here. The house wines age for at least three years before showing their beautiful color and fine bubbles. As for the Millésimes, they rest for five to six years. Comfortably seated in the cellar, you can taste the Clérambault cuvées, Tradition with its aromas of ripe fruit, Rosé version of red fruit, Carte Noire Brut and the Millésimes. Extra-Brut and Rosée de Saignée are also available.

At Champagne Drappier, the vineyard has been the soul of the family since 1808, with a 75-hectare estate including 40 hectares in Urville, where Pinot Noir dominates (70%), but Chardonnay and Meunier are also present. The house prides itself on cuvées with no added sugar or sulfites, which are still quite rare in the Champagne appellation. The house offers an impressive number of cuvées, including our favorites: Blanc de Blancs Signature, Grande Sendrée rosé, Brut nature, Brut nature sans soufre, Brut Nature Rosé and Quattuor. This wine merchant from Vouzin offers a fine selection of red, white and rosé wines from all over France, as well as champagnes, spirits and soft drinks. You will also find a wide choice of local beers: from the very local Ardwen to the classic Belgian Trappist beers Chimay, Orval and Mardesous, as well as some Walloon nuggets to discover, if you haven't already, such as La Cuvée des Trolls, La Godefroy de Bouillon and La Chouffe

Since 1982, the Fresne family has been cultivating its vines using sustainable methods. Gérard, Bernadette and Bruno are harvesters and handlers of nearly 8.5 hectares of vines, on which the three emblematic grape varieties of the Montagne de Reims flourish: meunier, pinot noir and chardonnay. For the tasting, you'll be welcomed in the house cellars. A range of 7 wines and a ratafia are on offer. Special mention goes to the Cuvée du Monastère. Made from old vines and aged for a year in oak barrels, 900 copies are produced.

The vineyards of this fine brand cover 30 hectares and give rise to a rich range: Pur Extra-brut, Audace Brut, Instinct Brut, Écrin Brut réserve, Nuance Brut rosé, Millésime, Privilège Brut, Parade Demi-Sec, Coffret Empreinte (aged in wood) and Ratafia Apéritif. On this estate, located in the village of Méry-Prémecy, great importance is attached to sustainable viticulture, in order to respect not only the wines themselves, but also the men and women who contribute to their production every day.

A visionary and entrepreneur at heart, Albert Bergère created his own brand in 1949 in Épernay. The Domaine is nowadays famous for its rare and atypical wines. The family does not practice malolactic fermentation unlike the vast majority of Champagne winemakers. All the wines are aged for at least 4 to 9 years. The range is magnificent and in particular the Cuvée Collection Roger-Constant, a high fashion vintage produced in very limited quantities. The estate also has an 18th century guest house called "Millésime et une nuit".

A graduate of Arts et Métiers, he began by working in the automotive sector before leaving for Chicago to earn an MBA and specialize in oenology. That's the Champagne way! You're sure to fall in love with this atypical Maison. Founded in 1947, Emmanuel Chopin is now developing a successful wine tourism business. Nestled on the southern slopes of Épernay, the 7-hectare vineyard is cultivated using integrated viticulture methods, and produces 8 champagnes classified into 2 ranges: "Originelles" and "Classiques". Rare enough to be highlighted, the House also produces 6 Champagne ratafias. The estate also offers a range of fun and convivial wine workshops.

This 4.2 hectare vineyard, dominated by Pinot Meunier, is managed in a reasoned culture thanks to techniques used in organic viticulture. Certified HVE since 2010, biodiversity is thus preserved and the use of phytosanitary products is greatly reduced. These quality requirements are reflected in their 8 "hand-crafted" vintages, which are made with rigor, precision and authenticity. In Ville-Dommange, since 1590, several generations of coopers and then winemakers have succeeded one another to write the history of this beautiful house, now run by Véronique and Florent Bergeronneau-Marion. In 2007, the talented duo created the "Clos des Bergeronneau" planted with pinot noir and meunier and facing south-east. A magical and rare place where you can taste a flute of their eponymous vintage from a terrace with an absolutely heavenly view.

Located in Écueil, Nicolas Maillart owns an exceptional vineyard classified as Premier and Grand Cru. In this deep-rooted family, the vines have been worked since 1753. Very committed to the preservation of the environment, Nicolas has installed photovoltaic panels to self-manage his energy production. 6 vintages, a ratafia and a fine de Marne are to be discovered. We especially like "Les Francs de Pied", a rare and sumptuous plot of land!

Franck Début works an 8-hectare vineyard with a strong predominance of meunier grapes, using sustainable viticulture, in the purest respect of traditions. For the neophytes, the website of the House is very informative on the history of the village and the wine making process. These owner-growers have made time their ally and patience their secret. Stainless steel vats, malolactic fermentation... everything is put in place to preserve the personality of each wine whose taste signature is definitely round and greedy.

Producer-collecting vineyards southwest of Epernay, in the Marne Valley, Gilbert Lagache sells on site a nice selection of champagne and sparkling wines. Besides the best wines based on Pinot meunier of this small producer. The company Lagache uses as other producers personalized capsules for its bottles of champagne. Its capsules are distinguished by their central cut surrounded by clusters on gold background with a Bordeaux contour.

Founded in 1947, Champagne Jacquinot et Fils is located in the hills above Épernay, a stone's throw from the Avenue de Champagne. The range comprises 5 cuvées, starting with Brut Private Cuvée, the House's Brut sans année, a blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir. The Cuvée Millésimée Symphonie Brut is a blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. Cuvée Symphonie Rosé is made only in the very best years. In the glass, these wines offer a gentle melody.

Welcome to the Domaine Proy Goulard currently managed by Lucile and Alexandre. The duo manages a vineyard of 4.5 ha. The vines, 35 years old, are planted on terroirs with a strong identity thanks to clay-silt, sandy-silt and chalky soils. This diversity offers a rich and complex aromatic palette. A natural and traditional vinification, an ageing time between 2 and 7 years as well as a low dosage allow the champagnes to express all the typicity of the terroirs they embody. 5 wines are to be discovered.

Today, the^3rd generation of winegrowers skillfully manage this beautiful 10-hectare vineyard in Mareuil, Avenay, Bergères-les-Vertus, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger. All 3 traditional Champagne grape varieties are represented. After a friendly guided tour of the cellars and press, it's time for a tasting session. Our favorites are the Brut Millésime Blanc de blancs 2018 and the Brut Millésime 2012, two exceptional cuvées that are currently unavailable due to their overwhelming popularity!

Today, Séverine and Caroline Launois continue the adventure, producing a fine range of champagnes. A particular favorite is the oeil de Perdrix cuvée, with its spicy nose and complex mouthfeel. The history of this family business only began in 1980, and yet the quality and awards are there. Champagne Pascal Delette's vineyards cover 7 ha and are managed using integrated viticulture methods. Today, Yves Pascal and his son Sébastien run the estate, crafting authentic, generous cuvées. Our favorite is Cuvée Brut Rosé: a champagne blended from 65% meunier, 12% coteaux-champenois rouge and 23% pinot noir. A perfect match for a strawberry tart dessert. Their Prestige Millésime Brut is lively, with fine bubbles. It will work wonders with oily fish.

This family business operates a 9 ha vineyard with a predominance of black grapes. In the range of the House, the Champagne Brut illustrates this dominant: champagne of all the moments, it is perfect with the aperitif. The Cuvée Brut de Brut is a more mature champagne. Natural, it will delight the purists. The plus ? The House does not only offer you a glass, but also a place to stay, with a comfortable gîte also located in the village of Baslieux-sous-Châtillon.

The family's 28 ha vineyard is located entirely on the Côte des Blancs in Cuis and Vertus^1er cru, Cramant, Oger and Chouilly Grand cru. More than half of the estate is planted with vines at least 40 years old. Olivier and Didier Gimonnet produce exclusively blanc de blancs champagnes, with the exception of a highly atypical Rosé de Blancs. The range is extremely varied. From generation to generation, the Chiquet family has crafted its champagnes according to ancestral fundamentals, but with a modern twist. Their wines exude natural aromas and reflect the specific characteristics of their terroirs of origin. Today, Antoine and Nicolas Chiquet ensure the continuity of the family estate while respecting the rules of the art. The range is divided into two chapters: BSA and Millésimés. Our favorites are the Blanc de blancs d'Aÿ Brut and the Spécial Club Brut Millésimé 2014. Rare wines of excellence!

Today, the^4th generation runs this beautiful 8.5-hectare family estate. You can visit the traditional winery, the cellars and an exhibition of tools recalling the family's past. Taste the Brut Tradition, a blend of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay, and the Cuvée Henri-III, named after the king who authorized the first wine fair in 1578. The House's red Ambonnay is not to be outdone. This very fine coteaux-champenois is perfect with characterful dishes.

Founded in 1929 and owned by 25 winegrowing families, Mailly Grand Cru is one of the few mono Grand Cru estates in Champagne, located exclusively in the Mailly area. Barrel ageing, parcel-by-parcel vinification and Champagne rosé de macération are the hallmarks of a respected ancestral tradition. The range includes the prestigious Cuvée Blanc de Pinot Noir, as well as the cuvée parcellaire Les Échansons, a vintage cuvée for great years only.

In Marie-Noëlle Ledru's magnificent estate, the work in the vineyard is accomplished with rigor and passion. Upon reservation, the mistress of the house offers you the possibility to visit her cellars, to taste her wines and to ask her all the questions about champagne. Her wines are energetic and vibrant. We especially like the Assemblage Extra-Brut and the Cuvée du Goulté 2009. This is an address that wine lovers will never tire of visiting!

Strengthened by values and traditions patiently acquired over the years, Pierre Déthune and his wife Sophie develop the know-how of a long line of winegrowers. A beautiful property of 7 ha allows them to elaborate 9 different cuvées: a demi-sec, an extra-brut, a brut, a rosé, a blanc de blancs (2015), a blanc de noirs and three particular cuvées: the Prestige, the Cuvée millésimée entirely aged in oak barrels (2012), and the Cuvée à l'ancienne (2012), which rests on laths for six years. Not to mention the ratafia (pinot noir and alcohol).

Located in a Premier Cru village, the family business was founded by Françoise Marchand and Robert Boutillez. Since 2001, Marion has managed the estate in close collaboration with Jean-Michel Sourdet, who joined her in 2007. Their 6.4-hectare vineyard is planted almost entirely with Chardonnay, a delicate, golden grape variety. Discover their extraordinary Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru, Rosé Premier Cru and Ratafia.

For these grower-manipulators, being a winegrower is first and foremost a family adventure exercised with passion. Mostly cultivated with meunier and pinot noir grapes, the 6-hectare vineyard is classified as Premier Cru and worked using the most natural methods possible. If you pass one day by Rilly-la-Montagne, do not hesitate to stop to discover this House built in 1930 by Marcel Lassalle. Today it is Eric Lassalle who proudly carries on the family values. On the vineyard side, the vines flourish on 7.5 hectares spread over 3 exceptional terroirs classified as Premier Cru: Chigny-les-Roses, Rilly-la-Montagne and Ludes. Their 5 cuvées are balanced wines with rich and complex aromas.

Independent winemakers for over 35 years, committed and proud of their profession, the people who make up the history of Champagne Lacroix take care of all the stages of winemaking and take real pleasure in showing the fruit of their precious work. Anxious to offer champagnes of the highest quality, the estate has been equipped with a modern pressing center and vat room since 2010. Since 2016, you can also discover their tasting space. A vineyard of 13 hectares with a strong dominance of pinot meunier allows the production of 9 wines.
