Wine estates Lorraine

Start your discovery with the frizzant d'été, a surprising and original wine, and you will understand that this winegrower works with audacity and know-how. This young and friendly producer, whose vines are more than a century old, runs an estate of 8.5 hectares spread over Ancy-sur-Moselle, Dornot and Novéant. Don't hesitate to come and visit or to taste the wines. In any case, all the wines offered are fresh and surprising!

Regularly rewarded, this Toulois estate is the initiative of Isabelle and Jean-Michel Mangeot, who started their winegrowing activity in 1997. Today, Isabelle Mangeot continues the adventure and passes on this passion by offering 13 different vintages, and no less than 120,000 bottles produced each year. The grape varieties that make up the appellation are Auxerrois, which gives aromatic white wines without acidity, Gamay, a rustic grape variety that brings fruitiness and vivacity, and Pinot Noir, which brings richness, roundness and finesse to the wine.

A 2.5 ha vineyard modified into high Alsace type vines in order to optimize the quality of the harvest. The grape varieties are gamay, pinot noir and auxerrois. Francis Demange settled there more than ten years ago and participates in the production of Toul wine. His Gris de Toul, made with 15% pinot noir, is round and supple in the mouth. The Auxerrois, on the other hand, is characterized by citrus notes for a fruity and dry taste. The pinot noir surprises with notes of raspberry. There is something for everyone. Since 1996, Marc Laroppe and his wife Géraldine have been cultivating 2.2 hectares of vines, after Monsieur replanted some vines in his native village. The vine stock thus divides at 80 cm from the ground in a V shape, guaranteeing better exposure to the sun and more effective moisture protection. The estate produces gamay, pinot noir and auxerrois grape varieties. Marc Laroppe has been a medal winner since his first harvest, and today produces an average of 18,000 bottles each year, which he sells directly. Géraldine also manages the guest rooms installed on the estate.

In the Migot family, the elaboration of Toul wines is part of an eleven generation tradition. Camille Migot, the last of the lineage, has taken up the family torch and offers AOC Côtes-de-Toul wines, from Auxerrois to Pinot Noir and Gris de Toul. His approach is to convert the production to organic, in total adequacy with the values of the family. The grapes are picked by hand, before being sorted and passed in immediate harvest for the whites and the grays. The reds are destemmed and put in vats.

In 2019, Marie-Geneviève and Norbert Molozay celebrated 20 years of rebirth of Château de Vaux. Twenty years of work that have enabled them to transform the estate to produce wines that are increasingly noticed. Convinced of the quality of the terroir and driven by their convictions, the winegrowers have never ceased to move forward in order to develop their estate: they have planted new vines, worked to promote Moselle wine and happily taken the turn to biodynamic and organic farming.

Situated on the slopes of Vic-sur-Fit, the Dietrich-Girardot domain covers 5 hectares and produces on average 33 000 bottles annually. The vineyards of the area are exposed to the south, on the slopes, on a clay-clay ground: the clusters therefore enjoy a beautiful sunshine. White (auxerre, muller-thurgau, Pinot blanc and pinot gris) and red (Pinot noir and gamay) are made in the purest tradition of Vic-sur-Fit. Semi-sparkling such as the Pearl of White White Bishops and Brute Crude Vicoise are also proposed in this exploitation and will happily replace the traditional champagne. Several vintages in the field have won a few medals in the contest of Lorraine wines. Since 2010, the domain has been certified as AOC. It is highly recommended to call before every visit, history of not finding closed door.

The Domaine des Hattes covers 1.5 hectares and offers 5 grape varieties. The vineyard benefits from conditions that favour a microclimate conducive to the development of the vines. The passionate L'Huillier family is happy to welcome local wine lovers. They will show you around the estate and tell you the history of this vineyard which is full of anecdotes. Their motto: "produce a quality wine rather than a large quantity of bottles". Depending on the grape variety, the wines will accompany aperitifs, fish, meat, desserts... So, can't wait to try it?

Strengthened by their success but limited by the size of their cellar at Château de Vaux, Marie-Geneviève and Norbert Molozay have acquired this new building in Scy-Chazelles. Dating from the end of the ^19th century, it was used to house the army's cellars. Completely renovated, these 4,000^m2 house certain vintages in the barrel cellar. The cellar is used for tastings and other events related to these biodynamic and organic appellations.

Located in the south of the first slopes of the Côtes de Toul, where the Moselle valley and the Côtes de Meuse meet, the estate extends its vineyard over the villages of Buligny and Blénod-lès-Toul. The vineyard is composed of pinot noir, auxerrois and gamay. A particularity of the domain, in addition to the organic agriculture, is the presence of mirabelle orchards, another specialty of Lorraine. Today, there are 12 ha of vines and 6 ha of mirabelle plum orchards that flourish on clay-limestone slopes, exposed to the south and southeast.

A family business since 1971. David and Vincent Lelièvre inherited the know-how and professionalism of their father, and how to use it advisedly to produce a wine of good quality. For a few years, the production of wine, ennobled in 1998 by a well-earned AOC, has been more than largely designed upwards. The famous Gris de Toul are added Pinot Noir, white in auxerrois and traditional method and sparkling, very successful. The grape varieties of today (gamay, auxerrois and Pinot Noir) are prepared and controlled by the house of hands of Masters. The wines are charming, fruity and lively and worth features. You can watch them largely grey in Lorraine specialties or aperitif, white on fish and shellfish, or, for a little old red, on duck or game. Who has not enjoy a trout with the traditional menu are Toul does not know what happiness means: fruit and the acidulado of one that leads to the softness of the meat of the other. Terrines, candied also enjoy this contribution of the grey and we strongly recommend them for you. In addition to the delicatessen (the various dishes, local saffron, produced craftsmen and local) company is also arboricolous, with fruit trees, thus offering beautiful fruit juice (apple, grape) of fine spirits and liqueurs (mirabelle of Lorraine). Domaine de Montgrignon is a winery located in Vigneulles-lès-Hattonchâtel. They offer a wide range of wines, including Traditional and Flavored Methods, as well as certified organic IGP Côtes de Meuse wines. The estate also offers a delivery service.

30 kilometres from Verdun and near Billy-sous-les Côtes, Domaine de La Goulotte, a local wine producer from the Meuse, is open every day by appointment. The cellar can also be visited on request. On site, discover white, red, grey, white and white made using traditional methods, aged for one year in bottles on slats, and rosé. The Kohll-Reuland winery, located in the wine-growing villages of Ehnen, Wormeldange and Schengen, is a small, family-run business producing top-quality wines and crémants. Domaines Vinsmoselle, located in Trieux, is Luxembourg's largest producer of wine and crémant. They are renowned for their century-old expertise (since 1921) and award-winning wines. Bringing together 240 winegrowers from Schengen to Wasserbillig, this cooperative cultivates exceptional terroirs along the Moselle. Domaine Sunnen Hoffmann produces a variety of wines, including Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Muskat-Ottonel. Domaine Claude Vosgien is a vineyard located in Blénod-lès-Toul, in the Côtes de Toul region. It offers a wide range of organic wines, from traditional cuvées to cuvées grand terroir, festive wines and spirits. The owners, Alexandre and Stéphane Vosgien, have carried on their parents' winemaking tradition and adopted organic farming methods. At Domaine de Coustille, you will meet Côtes de Meuse wine producers working according to traditional methods. The main grape varieties that make up the region are for red wine, pinot noir, pinot gris and gamay; for white wine, auxerrois and chardonnay. The vines are planted on clay and limestone scree soils.
