The lake of Bouzey (140 ha) is a particularly pleasant place to spend a day in full nature. This large artificial lake, dating from the late th century, serves as a reservoir for the operation of the East canal locks. An ideal playground for children, and for the larger ones, it is the ideal place to practice all the water activities (canoeing, pedal boats, sailing…). Spaces are specially designed for bathing and further afield, fishermen and s can enjoy the tranquillity of the banks. The lake is also the starting point for many walks on foot, horseback and bike  : a 15 km cycle trail was created between the pond and the City of the images. Paradis's paradis, the Bouzey water plan is also an essential passage point for many migratory bird species.

A place where human paw has brought about a very special ecosystem. Until the 1970 s, great quarries produced sand and pavés. Abandoned since then, this place has seen a life typical of the sandy soils. It is possible to observe very rare plants such as Immortal sands, long leaves fescue or lunar Botriche. A 1,5 km discovery trail allows you to turn around this natural space not like others. To access it, you need to take the forest route that connects the village of Puttelange-lès-Thionville to the hamlet of Halling. 

This nature journey begins in the town hall and leads you quickly to discover the Beaudoin woods. The arboretum, very well maintained by his gardener Dominique Durand, presents himself as a pleasant and instructive walk route. As a result of your transgressions, the various tree species that took possession of the places are revealed: you can identify them with their valuable labelling. Thus, between a araucaria, flowering ash or a purple purple beech, let yourself be seduced by the lord of the species: a Redwood 45 metre high and 42 cubic metres; difficult to miss!

Unique in Lorraine, located only ten kilometres from the Luxembourg border, the Hettange-Grande geological nature reserve is one of the eleven French geological reserves recognised under the RNF (Réserves Naturelles de France). Covering an area of 6 hectares, it was created in 1985 by decree of the Ministry of the Environment. The history of the site is unique, since it is an old quarry exploited from Roman times to the 1960s. Today, a marked path punctuated by about fifteen panels is laid out inside the site itself, explaining the various problems of the site, questions about fauna and flora, ranging from geology to botany. Passionate about geology, the place is a good educational tool. You get the fresh air!
