The Hautes-Vosges Greenway is a real treasure nestled in the heart of nature. Stretching over 53 kilometers of former railroad tracks in the Moselle-Moselotte valleys, this multi-purpose trail offers a shared space for walkers, cyclists, rollerbladers and even cross-country skiers on wheels. The starting point is the Remiremont lake, from where two trails unfold: one towards Cornimont and the other towards Bussang.

On foot or by bike, the 23 km signposted route (accessible to all levels) follows the course of the River Orne as closely as possible. A bucolic landscape and judicious layout allow you to discover this former iron and steel valley. Some footbridges have been renovated and others created to take you from one bank to the other. Take advantage of the beauty of the surroundings for a picnic stop or a moment of contemplation. For soccer fans, you'll pass by the Joeuf stadium where Platini scored his first goals. You're all set for a lovely stroll.

The group of independent mountain guides of the Bureau Montagne Hautes-Vosges/Séjours Rando Nature offers many hikes with varied themes and activities, accessible to all. With family, friends, seminars, hiking clubs, constituted groups, EVF, EVG, (chamois observation, hiking around peat bogs and glacial lakes, Nordic walking, "Bain de forêt" hikes, a certified mountain bike school (children's lessons, Enduro, DH, electric-assisted mountain biking...), archery, and snowshoe rides in winter, morning, afternoon, night, day, weekend...). All year round, private outings, depending on the duration desired by the client. Weekend or weekly stays tailored to your needs (hikes, multi-activities...).

Hikers and nature lovers, the Santois country is waiting for you. For your satisfaction, the association of the Randonneurs du Saintois was created. On the program: nearly 28 pedestrian, equestrian and mountain bike circuits (approved but not marked) from 6 to 58 km are proposed around the hill of Sion, Vézelise, Haroué, Goviller and Val-de-Moselle. Gérardmer offers an ideal experience for hiking enthusiasts, with routes to suit all levels. Whether you opt for family walks, long-distance trails or discovery paths, you'll have the opportunity to peacefully explore the surrounding area by touring the lake or taking the Perles de la Vologne trail, passing such highlights as the Pont des Fées, the Marie-Louise islands and the Vannes. Thanks to the assiduous upkeep of the tourist office, over 350 km of marked trails are available.

The Charmes region offers a multitude of circuits, both on foot and by bike, enabling you to discover the region's secret charms. In partnership with various associations, the tourist office provides information on the many itineraries available.

After visiting the typical village of Royaumeix, do not hesitate to take a walk in the nearby Queen's forest, where you will discover the path of tall trees with its majestic oaks constituting one of the most beautiful natural forests in France, but also the many superb forest ponds. A true natural paradise which, thanks to the avifauna and flora, attracts more and more visitors.

The Vallée de l'Ornain greenway runs along the former towpath of the Marne au Rhin canal, between Fains-Véel and Saint-Amand sur Ornain, passing through Bar-le-Duc and Ligny-en-Barrois. Some 30 kilometers long, it allows you to discover all the nearby villages by bike or on foot, on a bucolic walk linking 30 numbered locks. Picnic areas have been set up along the way. All year round, hiking associations in the region offer walkers and cyclists grouped outings organized around the head of the Meuse. You will understand this quickly… Starting from Flavigny-sur-Moselle, this loop first bypasses the Étang Pond, then borders the path of hâlage along the canal des Vosges, and finally joins its starting point following the cours de la Moselle. Interested? Well, to your shoes, or to your boss, and it's gone! Short and easy, the walk is very good with family or friends: you can enjoy your environment without sweat and water.

At the start of the lavoir-lès-Vaucouleurs wash-house, browse the discovery trail of local fauna and flora. In the programme: almost 5,5 kilometres on foot to meet a wild operator, a mountain maple, oak oak or other charms, charcoals of Europe, or black sureaux; in all, 14 tree species are to be met. Your journey is punctuated by several steps: The anthill signs its end, then go back to the village via the so-called Rural cross.

This sports course is located on the heights of the city. With a length of 1095 metres, it offers thirteen steps, three of which will warm, a slalom, bars, rings, stairs… Each event is presented on a small panel and the course extends on a green terrain, presenting different species of trees. For children, a swing playground awaits them. The journey is close to the forest on the Sainte-Catherine side, which offers beautiful walks.

The website of the Comité Régional de la Randonnée Grand Est gathers a lot of useful information for amateurs and sportsmen. It promotes and develops many actions around hiking and plays an important role in transmitting respect for nature and the environment. Its mission is also to safeguard the trails. At the tourist office in Le Tholy, you can obtain a map listing numerous nature walks. Among the options available, you'll find the Trou de l'enfer walk and the 3 km Badger trail! There's also the Clairière de Cellet walk, located 6 km from Gérardmer. This is where most of the scenes from Robert Enrico's 1965 film Les Grandes Gueules, starring Lino Ventura and Bourvil, were filmed - a particularly interesting piece of information for fans of the seventh art!
