THE BALLOON OF ALSACE
Read moreWe are here at 1 250 m, on one of the biggest Elm Balls. Spectacular views of the Vosges, Alsace, Belfort territory, and in clear time, on the Alps. It often happens that in winter we are here in the sun, above a sea of clouds, as by plane. Nice strolls on the summit: climb to the Jeanne-d'Arc statue to discover the Vosges trash in all their splendour. There will also be a statue dedicated to the deminers who did considerable work in the aftermath of the Second World War.

The Sarrebourg-Buhl airfield is home to the Sarrebourg regional flying club, founded in 1947 by Henri Metz, a locksmith born in Sarrebourg in 1892, who learned to fly during his military service in the German army. Today, it is a dynamic intercommunal airfield and the last airfield in Moselle open to public air traffic. It has two runways running south-north, one asphalt runway 740 m long and 20 m wide, and one grass runway 770 m long and 80 m wide.
