ALAMEDA
Read moreThe dining room is bright and refined, and the cutlery is in the most classic style. It is a family united around the same cause that welcomes you, the Txapartegi brothers and their aunt. The young chef, Gorka, already has a background as an artist that allows him to do the cooking he loves, traditional and inventive at the same time: egg with truffled potato and garlic soup, candied artichoke and his veil perfumed with bacon... The fish is not à la carte, as it depends on the catch of the day. In the adjoining room, there is a tavern at more accessible prices.

CASA JULIÁN
Read moreA great Tolosa classic, known throughout the country for its excellent cuisine. This traditional house is famous for its chuletón a la parrilla (grilled prime rib) - the best in the world according to the American magazine Forbes! - served with absolutely divine piquillo peppers! The secret of its delicious meat lies in the art of cooking, an art that has been going on since 1954. As an appetizer, try Navarra asparagus or bellota ham. There is very little choice on the menu, but all the products are excellent. Not to be missed!
BAROMETRO
Read moreA small restaurant like we like, with a warm atmosphere, a marine decoration and generous invigorating dishes: the seafood soup or the unavoidable fabada, accompanied by a small white wine of the region. You can also enjoy good seafood such as razor clams, cockles and scallops, as well as fish such as grilled sole, monkfish or red mullet. It is located on the port and owes its name to the old barometer visible on its facade. A good address to try!
RESTAURANTE A MOA
Read moreNo tourists or pilgrims here, but a local clientele who appreciate the excellent cuisine of this restaurant. The ground floor functions as a bar, where you can have a drink with some tapas. You will probably notice a large steaming pot of bean soup: help yourself, it's on the house! The restaurant is located in the basement, in a beautiful modern and warm setting, which opens onto a charming garden. The à la carte menu serves creative cuisine, executed with brio. Reservation is necessary on weekends!
A PULPERIA DO LUIS
Read moreA convivial canteen to taste around large wooden tablets the traditional pulpo feigned with pimentón. The octopus, cut before your eyes, is a freshness. Very good atmosphere!
EL DE ALBERTO
Read moreClose to Orzán beach, Alberto's restaurant offers renovated traditional cuisine in a very pleasant but unpretentious setting. A la carte, zamburiñas au gratin, scallops a la plancha, and delicious stews simmered over a low fire, all served with great care. You can accompany your dish with a delicious Spanish wine with Denomination of Origin, which offers an appreciable selection. It is, without a doubt, one of the best value for money in the city, and one of its best tables!
BORDA BERRI
Read moreHere you won't find pintxos at the counter: you have to make your choice on the slate and order from the waiters (if you manage to make your way to the bar!). This tiny tavern, one of the best in the whole city, is a must for its pintxos guisados, real little dishes simmered in sauce, such as the famous carrillera (pork) with red wine. Idiazábal's cheese risotto is also excellent, as is the pork rib kebab and ravioli filled with scampi or chipiron (depending on the season).
LA CUCHARA DE SAN TELMO
Read moreOur favourite place to eat tapas in the Parte Vieja! Unfortunately, it is no longer a secret for anyone, so you'll have to be patient to place your order, as the place is tiny and always full to bursting! The slate on the wall leaves you dreaming: foie gras pan-fried à la plancha and its apple compote, carrillera (beef) simmered in red wine, suckling pig roasted in beer, grilled octopus in tximitxurri sauce... served as pintxos at the counter, or raciones to share at tables outside. Divine!
LA RAMPA
Read moreThe best address for lunch in the old port of San Sebastián, in a very picturesque setting, a stone's throw from the Aquarium. When the weather is fine, this is the perfect place to share raciones of grilled sardines, fresh anchovies and txopitos (fried cuttlefish) on the terrace, all accompanied by a bottle of txakoli. With the first freshness, we will opt for the very tasty fish soup. The restaurant also offers fish and seafood, but the note will obviously be a little saltier!

EL PEÑÓN DE SOPELANA
Read moreA magical place, facing the ocean, to eat a burger, pintxos, or more sophisticated dishes in the restaurant area - mostly fish-based. Inaugurated in 1998 in the Playa de Atxabiribil, El Peñón has three terraces on different levels. With its sublime view of the ocean, it is a privileged spot to drink a cocktail at sunset time. The restaurant's à la carte menu: tuna tataki, salmon tartar and sautéed chipirons are a tasty option. Also nice salads and several dishes for children!
