The Annemasse Mont-Blanc canoe-kayak club offers all year long the possibility to practice white water sports on the rivers of the Haute-Savoie, but also in the swimming pool (on Thursday evenings in Annemasse, upon reservation). This discipline is aimed at a large public (minimum age 13 years) with the only condition: to be able to swim a distance of at least 25 m and to be able to swim under water. Located in the bed of the Durance, on the municipalities of Curbans and La, this artificial lake was bottled in 1975 by EDF. The water plan is also fed by the water from the leak canal of the electricity production plant which flows into upstream. A 17-metre dam, used to regulate the waters of the Sisteron canal, was built downstream. You can stay in one of the two campsites on the East Bank, on the side of Cubans. Fishing is permitted in certain sectors (see conditions), like canoeing and bathing. Côté la Saulce, its west bank, consists of a relatively steep land dike. During migration in April-May and August-September, many naturist settled and observed birds with long views. The north bank has a relatively quiet plateau.

Pro Lynx Sports offers kayaks and canoes (two or three-seater) for hire from its base in Chanaz. Just a few kilometers from Lac du Bourget, you can kayak to the lake via the Canal de Savières. Two totally different settings are offered by this lovely trip. Saint-Pons offers a variety of sports and leisure activities for visitors. Among the town's activity providers, Apache Rafting specializes in rafting. They offer different types of rafting trips, from family rafting to sport rafting. In addition to rafting, other activities available in Saint-Pons include gliding, paragliding, go-karting, accrobranche, mini-golf and paintball. Aquagym, aquabike, aquafitness, and other activities are offered in addition to swimming lessons. In summer, a 250^m2 water playground is open for children.

It is one of the largest and most frequented beaches by young people and families in summer, who easily extend the swim with an improvised picnic on the lawns punctuated by clumps of trees to preserve themselves from a sun that would become too untimely. The sand and gravel bay allows children to walk several meters and its rocky peninsula attracts those who wish to swim more quietly in the distance.

Thonon-les-Bains has received the France Nautical Station label. Rated 4 stars, for the quality of its activities on Lake Geneva and the rivers: sports, cruises, discovery of the heritage and various nautical animations.
