The Chautay is located 4 kilometers north of La Guerche-sur-L 'Aubois. It is a true countryside village, berked by the Aubois River and the Berry Canal. The village of Chautay is on the Berry Berry circuit. Like most villages in the Val d 'Aubois, it is watered by the picturesque river Aubois. For four centuries this commune had an industrial vocation, since in its history the traces of a furnace were found to melt iron from 1560. Metal production continued until 1869. Today, this charming village is an agricultural bourgado - culture, livestock, apple orchards and pears.
