Landivisiau is a commercial town which benefits from a privileged geographical position. Crossroads of Léon, it is located on the main roads Brest-Paris and Roscoff-Lorient. With the construction of the naval aeronautical base (BAN) in 1965, in support of the whole of the embarked fighter aviation, the city grew and welcomed new inhabitants. Over the centuries, horse fairs have made its reputation: breeders from all over France and Europe did not hesitate to come and buy draft horses there. This is how it was nicknamed, from the 19th century onwards, the "capital of the horse"
