Nestled in the meanders of the Trieux, at the bottom of the estuary, the "little Venice of the Trégor" is organized around two squares, located on either side of the river. Its small paved streets are lined with beautiful half-timbered or stone houses. On the Yves Le Trocquer square, the blue half-timbered house, nicknamed the Eiffel Tower because of its height, is the emblem of the town, whose entrance it once served to watch over. The banks of the river are home to more than 50 washhouses dating from the 19th century, when Pontrieux experienced an industrial boom: the town, which served as a port for Guingamp, exported the linen cloth produced in the region.
