Escolives-Sainte-Camille is located on the left bank of the Yonne, 10 km south of Auxerre. Escolives is above all known for its archaeological site highlighting its rich Gallo-Roman past. Rich in numerous springs, the terroir is a land of vines and agriculture: cherry production was once the specialty of the land that supplied Paris with fruit. But viticulture soon regained its rights and the exploitation of the vines that had been ravaged by phylloxera are now well established in the landscape, with vintages that are well appreciated by connoisseurs. Finally, the proximity to the Nivernais canal brings many boaters along the water.
