The territory of this township municipality, located southwest of Mont-Tremblant, includes the villages of Saint-Rémi-d'Amherst and Vendée, as well as the hamlet of Rockway Valley. It owes its name to British army officer and colonial administrator Jeffrey Amherst (1717-1791), known for his decisive victories in America, but unfortunately also for his attempted genocide of the Aboriginals. Today, the area is best known for its Selenia Lodge resort on the Kanata Tremblant site, its access to the Aerobic Corridor Park (biking, hiking, cross-country skiing...) and its old fire tower.
