Starred restaurant in Macon offering quality regional products, an authentic and inventive seasonal menu

This restaurant is an institution in Mâcon, and its Michelin star, acquired in 1997, has never left it. There's no doubt that the high standards set by the chef, Christian Gaulin, who is passionate about his profession and the quality of his products, have a lot to do with it. The menu changes with the seasons, combining authenticity and inventiveness. Regional products are given pride of place, and the chef doesn't hesitate to travel the length and breadth of France to enhance his menus. A wine list, presented by Isabelle, honors regional vintages. A fine address for all gourmets.

Un excellent restaurant, nous avons pris le menu gastronomique, tout était délicieux. Le service était attentif et compétent. Nous recommandons vivement une visite dans ce restaurant.

Très belle expérience, plats copieux. Leger Bémol sur le désert un peu trop riche en crème à notre goût. Sinon ras.

Excellent accueil de la patronne dans un cadre agréable. Tenté par le Menu Gastronomique avec l’option 2 plats plutôt que 3. Pour chacun de ceux-ci 2 choix possibles. Nage de homard originale aux fortes inspirations d’Extrême-Orient. Turbot sauvage rôti subtilement mais fermement poivré. Tout est là régal : la peau, la sauce savoureuse où surgissent ça et là les agrumes, le safran… Comme il se doit les mises en bouche, pré-dessert, dessert et mignardises viennent compléter agréablement ce repas confirmé du niveau d’un étoilé. Le verre de Viré Clessé tenait son rang. Sur les deux personnes qui m’ont servi, retenu la serveuse débutante mais pleine de prévenance et très souriante.
