Water is in the DNA of Sveti Martin na Muri! Its name (Saint-Martin-sur-Mur) comes from this river that the inhabitants have always exploited. In the 16th century, about 90 paddle mills were in operation. The milling industry developed at the beginning of the 20th century and slowly declined until the 1960s and 1980s. Today, we are back to it, but it is the thermal establishment which benefits the most from the hydromineral resources. It is one of the first complexes of this type in Europe.
