At first glance, Ahorntal is a community of 2,000 inhabitants with no real center, since it has been a conglomeration of dozens of small villages since the 1970s. And yet, there's a concentration of interesting things to do here. First of all, there's the Rabenstein fortress, a medieval relic that still dominates the valley, and right next door a falconry where you can discover the diversity of birds of prey. A ten-minute walk along a beautiful hiking trail takes you to the Sophienhöhle, discovered in 1833, whose limestone formations continue to captivate visitors. And all this beauty is less than 1 km away!
