Passignano sul Trasimeno (5,700 inhabitants) is located on the northern shore of Lake Trasimeno, the fourth largest lake in Italy (128 km2 with a circumference of 54 km) and a sanctuary for aquatic fauna and flora. The oldest part of the town has preserved the appearance of a fortified village and some remains, such as the tower of Ponente, on which the town's coat of arms still stands. The Rocca, built in medieval times, houses the Museum of Boats. There are several churches in the village, but its main interest is the terraces on the edge of the lake, on the Via Aganoor Pompili.
