This is the most beautiful island on the lake, with its 15th-century houses and two churches: the Romanesque San Salvatore and the 14th-century San Michele Arcangelo. The modern part of the village of Passignano sul Trasimeno stretches along the lake, where you'll find restaurants and terraces, while the other, older part is on top of a cliff. The ancient fishing villages now number fewer than forty people. The tradition of embroidered lace-making dates back to the 19th century. On the corso, you can still meet old women working on precious little handkerchiefs or scarves.
