It is one of the most bucolic reserves in the country: the setting is enchanting and the atmosphere will remind you of your greatest references in fantasy. In the heart of this green vegetation, the waterfalls run alongside childish legends and a fauna that is magical to say the least. It is said that elves populate the area alongside the huemul deer, the emblematic guardians of the forest. Chile's national animal, the huemul is the subject of a repopulation programme within the reserve. This endangered species has been reduced to only 1,500 individuals. To observe them, visit the "Bosque de Los Ciervos" trail.
