Villa La Angostura is on the road that connects Bariloche to San Martín de los Andes, not far from Lake Nahuel Huapi. This charming little resort is both chic and picturesque: its character hotels are inspired by mountain architecture and wood is everywhere in the village. Nicknamed "the garden of Patagonia", the village is just a shopping street (Avenida Arrayanes). To give you an idea of the place, El Cruce is the town centre, built on route 231 for convenience, while Villa is the port, a few kilometres from El Cruce. It is a good starting point for the Seven Lakes Route and the visit of Los Arrayanes National Park: a lot of agencies organize all kinds of excursions.
