Ílhavo is located 5 kilometres south of Aveiro and you can easily reach the Costa Nova with its beaches and colourful houses with black stripes that are somewhat reminiscent of the style of northern French seaside resorts. Here you will come mainly to visit the maritime museum and its aquarium, as Ílhavo has long been known as the stronghold of cod fishermen. On the programme: maritime history on the evolution of fishing and sea trips, old boats and fish of course!
