23 kilometres northwest of Viseu, on the N16. Born from the separation of the old municipality of Lafões into two distinct villages in 1836, São Pedro do Sul is the Portuguese capital of thermalism. The oldest thermal baths are located here and were inaugurated by Queen Amélie of Orleans in 1894. It is a small village surrounded by serras rich in floral vegetation in spring and summer, close to a river and with many hiking trails. You can still see the ruins of the Roman baths dating from the 1st century AD. A beautiful place to recharge your batteries and rarely visited. Enjoy it.
