Travel Guide Arouca

About 22,300 inhabitants. Arouca is located 60 km from Porto (1h) and Viseu (1h15). The city, known for its monastery built during the first half of the 10th century, is part of the Geopark that bears its name. The latter covers 328 km2 and allows to observe no less than 41 geosites, among which the Pedras Parideiras (the stones that generate stones). Arouca and its surroundings will allow you to commune with nature. Don't miss the 8 km long wooden bridge that connects Areinho to Espiunca along the Paiva River(Passadiços do Paiva, toll 1 €) 15 km from Arouca and the recently built suspension bridge (Ponte 516 Arouca)
