In the extension of the Sittee River nature reserve, along the road that plunges south from Dandriga, here are some 30 km2of tropical forest divided between high and lowlands. This area, ideal for budding explorers, connects the inland Maya Mountains with the coastal zone. The remains of three small archaeological sites (Mayflower, T'au Witz and Maintzunum) have been found here, and three beautiful waterfalls are available for hikers to cool off in.
