Punta Sur, the southern tip of the island, is a bit like the end of the world, island version. A small old-fashioned beach bar-resto, very Caribbean, where you can breathe in the sea air with all your lungs. Punta Sur is above all a natural reserve where you can see migratory birds, amphibians and reptiles, including beautiful crocodiles that you can observe from a viewpoint or during a boat ride. The park is also home to the Mayan archaeological site El Caracol (1200-1400), a lighthouse named Celarain, at the top of which you can climb for a superb 360-degree view, and a museum of navigation that is worth a visit. The beaches are beautiful, with white and fine sand, where you can find deckchairs and hammocks. The water is calm and transparent, ideal for snorkeling. Among the activities offered, you can take a boat trip on the lagoon of Colombia, kayak tours and take the small discovery trail.
