Tamba-Sasayama has long been an important crossroads on the road to Kyōto. It is a rather unknown stopover, which allows to immerse oneself in the traditional Japanese culture. In 2015, the city was awarded the UNESCO label of Creative City in the category of Crafts and Folk Arts. The potters' village of Tambayaki, whose history began more than 800 years ago, is located here. Today, this art is immersed in the lives of 60 craftsmen who continue to perpetuate ancestral techniques. It's a good place to live. A very pleasant stage.
