On their casquinha, a narrow wooden boat, the fishermen return from the open sea with their nets, full if luck is with them that day. A whole community of fishermen lives, almost year round, on Rolas. The island is part of the Quirimbas National Park, a paradisiacal archipelago of thirty-two islands in total. Off the coast of its neighbor Matemo, it is known for its beautiful seabed, its corals and the beautiful schools of fish that make their home there. When we sleep on the camp of Matemo, it is here that we come to snorkel. The magic happens, under the clear water, at the soft temperature when the underwater landscape appears.
