Travel Guide Corinto

Just west of Chinandega was the former and first port on the Pacific during the Spanish colonial period, El Realejo. He worked until the late 1850 s. The current port of Corinto then took the relay. There is also a pier for cruise boats that make short stops. Corinto is actually an island, located right next to El Realejo, connected by a bridge to the continent. It is popular for its beach of Paso Caballo, where a série series (cabana doing restaurants on the beach and kept by locals) is stormed on the weekend. Corinto is known for the architecture of its old houses, some have survived the last century, others are abandoned, but this form is quite picturesque and historic.
