A natural reserve extending over 22 km long and 250 m wide, this island just opposite Las Peñitas (to Puerto Sandino to the south) hosts from July to January a colony of Paslama turtles (notably), possibility of seeing turtles when the eggs hatch (starting in mid October). There are a lot of birds that you will feel like flying with pelicans! On foot, the ride is free, but on site the guard will ask us $ 1 to help protect the site and marine turtles.
