Fulhadhoo is one of the local islands of the tiny Goidhoo Atoll. This beautiful natural island is 1.9 kilometres long and is surrounded by several sandbanks and deserted islands. It is famous for its crystal clear waters and long white sandy beaches. Only a small part of the island is inhabited, while the rest is covered with coconut palms, banyan trees, mangroves and exotic plants that form a very wild ensemble. The island is not very developed and has only 150 inhabitants. The services are quite limited, the inhabitants having for habit to jump in a dhoni to go to Goidhoo in case of need. There are only a few shops providing the basics, a school, a mosque and a football field. As there are no ATMs, be sure to bring enough cash before leaving Male.
