Since the late 1940 s, Trumansburg has become the place of residence for many employees working in Ithaca, including employees at Cornell University. It is a small village with a great cultural value and particularly in the world of music. From 1961 to 1970, Robert Moog, a pioneer in electronic music, held a store in which he made his famous synthesizers. The Conservatoire des Beaux-Arts de Trumansburg offers music and concerts and the village is the seat of the GrassRoots music and dance festival since 1991.
