Fort Mohave was named after the nearby fort used during the Mohave War of 1858-1859. The city is a suburb of Bullhead City and is home to less than 16,500 residents. It is bordered on the west by the Fort Mojave Indian Reservation and on the south by Mesquite Creek and Mohave Valley. The valley in which these various towns and communities are located is generously watered by the Colorado River and is very suitable for farming. Fort Mohave is home to several man-made lakes and numerous golf courses with majestic mountain views. However, it is only a short drive to the casino area of little Las Vegas: Laughlin.
