Twelve miles south of Needles, Moabi Regional Park is a recreational area on the Colorado River, very popular thanks to its marina (Pirate Cove). It is a crossing point of the old Route 66, which in California takes the name of the road that preceded it at the beginning of the 20th century (National Old Trails Highway), and it is also a site frequented by fans of The Mother Road. Although the old sections of Route 66 that we find there end in a dead end, we come here for the history of the different bridges that crossed or still cross the Colorado, and notably the Old Red Rock Bridge of 1890 (destroyed) and the Old Trails Arch Bridge of 1916.
