City of water at 550 m altitude, where the Tabular mountains affect those of Bystryca (Mountains Bystrzyckie) near the Czech border. The forests surrounding Duszniki-Zdrój are the origin of its microclimate. The virtues of its waters have been known since the Middle Ages, but only from the th century there is a real development. In August of each year, the city hosts the Chopin International Festival with the participation of renowned pianists. Frédéric Chopin, then curiste, stayed in one of the manor houses in 1826.
