Travel Guide Diklo

From Chenako you can walk to the village of Diklo (3 km away), which has beautiful defensive houses. Beyond that, one quickly reaches the border area of Dagestan, Russia, and special permission is required to approach the border. The road in between is a dirt track from Diklo to Omalo. It is lined with beautiful pine trees, but beware, when it rains, the earth turns into mud, and even with a Jeep, the journey becomes very complicated. The village offers superb views of the Diklosmta, which is 4,285 m high. The village has a few guesthouses, and it is best to sleep there if you are trekking from Chenako.
