Zarzma is a small village at the end of Meskhetia, after Adigueni, at the foot of the Goderdzi pass road that goes to Adjaria (30 km from Akhaltsikhe). It is worth the detour to visit one of the most beautiful medieval monasteries in the region, the Monastery of the Transfiguration. The present building dates from the 14th century and is one of the most beautiful representatives of this period in Georgia. Inside there is a beautiful series of frescoes, including portraits of saints, from the 14th century.
