At the northern end of Wilpena Road, Blinman is a former mining town, founded in 1859. In the early 20th century, the town had a population of over 1,500, but today it is home to just 40. People come here to visit the galleries of the Heritage Blinman Mine. Blinman has the charm of a frontier town, only surpassed by tracks leading further into the outback. Coming from Hawker, turn left in the middle of the village to reach the Parachilna track, 34 km away. A dirt road also leads to Arkaroola Village, 155 km to the northeast. A 4x4 vehicle is strongly recommended.
