LA GRANDE CAVE DE PIERRE LAFOREST
The tasting area is committed and allows all the bottles offered to the sale to take their stay. Burgundy seems to have delegated some of its beautiful ambassadors in Côte-de-nuits, en-beaune, en côte-chalonnaise, in the four denominations in red and white. One will appreciate, among other things, the presence of Vougeot wine in red and the least publicized but also fréquentable vougeot white. Also ratafia, liqueurs, old marc, apple of Burgundy and fruit creams. The visitor will also be able to take a look at the th century cellars with a museum on the craft and culture of the vine. The cellar is the old cellar of the authentic Castle of Vougeot in 1631. Jean-Jacques Dalmaz your sommelier is keyboard about agreements between food and wine and wine-growing regions, especially Burgundy.

This year, we decided to drive from Besançon again to stock up for the winter and looked forward to the same great experience. Unfortunately, we were disappointed this time. There were no tastings offered at all, and when we asked about something similar to what we had purchased last year, we were given a different wine to taste that didn’t really match our taste. When we asked if there were any other options to try, we were told “we can’t open every bottle,” and that was that.
In the end, we bought two bottles of the recommended wine but felt that next time we might as well shop at a supermarket, since we cannot properly evaluate the wines here anymore.
Perhaps it was different staff member last year who provided such good service, but unfortunately we do not see ourselves returning again. We truly enjoyed the visit last year, but it seems things have changed. A shame.
