Vitteaux is a pretty little town built on the Brenne. This picturesque town has a large number of old buildings of character. The Béline house is a good example. Dating from the 13th century, it still has a splendid vaulted cellar and a remarkable exterior: windows with sculpted arches and columns. The halls, from the same century, have a French ceiling supported by huge transverse beams. Finally, the castle built by the Counts of Chalon and the fortified enclosure, there is little left today: the castle was demolished under Louis XIII. However, these remains give Vitteaux a certain charm
